A new opportunity has become available for a Dental Practice Manager to join an established, NHS practice located in Dundee.
Dental experience not essential.
Start date - As soon as possible.
This role is to work full time, Monday - Friday.
Working hours will be 8:30 - 17:00 each day with 1 hour for lunch.
Consisting of 5 surgeries, they are fully equipped and computerised using Systems for Dentists.
Salary on offer - £35k per annum
Closest station is a 7 minute walk (Approx)
Job Role:
To manage the NHS practice team and ensure the efficient day-day running and organisation of the NHS Orthodontic practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Run monthly Management Meetings (with Principal) to review monthly reports (targets v actuals) against the business plan. Discuss and agree focus/targets for next month/quarter.
• Oversee the effective management of the NHS Terms of Service.
• Run monthly Operations Meetings (with Clinical Director, Lead Nurse and Reception Lead) to review targets, clinic efficiency, staffing and resolve issues and agree targets/focus for the next month for the NHS practice.
• Run weekly Front of House Review meetings with Reception Lead to review appointment book, discuss and resolve issues, training & performance.
• Run weekly Nursing Review meetings with the Lead Nurse to review clinical standards, efficiency, progress v targets, training & performance, stock control, for the NHS practice
• Oversee the management of efficient stock control and supply procedure and efficient ordering for the NHS practice, according to budget and targets, coordinating with the Lead Nurse as appropriate (and the Private Patient Business Manager).
• Manage the building and facilities and project manage any infrastructure projects, coordinating with the Principal and Private Patient Business Manager.
• Take overall responsibility for the IT and technology strategy for the business (both NHS and Private), coordinating with the Private Patient Business Manager as appropriate.
• Undertake contract management for the business (NHS and Private), ensure that practice equipment is serviced and maintained to the required frequency, and contracts are in place.
• Take responsibility for managing and resolving day-to-day operational issues for the NHS practice (such as equipment failures, IT issues, building and facility problems).
• Ensure effective data collection and monitoring of all financial, sales and marketing information and performance statistics (KPIs) for the NHS practice. Review and analyse the relevant data and spreadsheets,
• Manage, motivate and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the NHS team: including clinicians (orthodontists and therapists), front of house and nurses to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
• Oversee the effective management of the NHS staff rotas (front of house and clinical) to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of clinical and customer care to patients and support to clinicians/therapists, coordinating with the Lead Nurse and Reception Lead and Clinical Director as appropriate.
• Monitor the front of house, working team in managing the appointment book, ensuring that the daily production targets can be met and the booking system is followed and to ensure no delays for patients or the orthodontists and therapists.
• Ensure the team build trusting and caring relationships with all patients, and take all reasonable steps to ensure their comfort and retain them as a client. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
